To commemorate the centenary of the First World War the Great War Living History Committee was formed to provide living history interpretation throughout the Bonavista Peninsula and beyond. The centenary concluded in 2018 and the committee went on hiatus for a couple of years. However, the group continues in a reduced capacity but still wears 1918 era Royal Newfoundland Regiment uniforms to stand vigil at Memorial Services each July 1st and Nov. 11th. For information on the insignias, uniforms and weapons used by the Royal Newfoundland Regiment check out these links: Symbols & Insignia and also Weapon/Equipment.
